Regular weekly lessons are very strongly recommended for all students. Most students have one hour-long lesson per week. (Occasionally a shorter lesson works better for a young child—if you think this may be the case, contact me to discuss further.)

First Lesson – Free if you continue

I will be glad to set up a single lesson so you can see if I will be a good fit for you or your child. If you continue with regular weekly lessons (a minimum of 4 paid lessons), the first lesson is free.

Park Slope Parents member discountunnamed

For members of Park Slope Parents, your first two lessons are free when you commit to a month of 4 weekly paid lessons (in other words, 6 lessons for the price of 4). Should you decide not to continue, the introductory lesson is still 50% off.

Payment for each month’s worth of lessons is made at the first lesson of the month, which will secure you a regular spot in my schedule.

Rates vary by location. Contact me for the cost of lessons in your area.

Cancellations and Make-ups

If you need to cancel a lesson, I ask for at least 24 hours’ advance notice. I will either offer a make-up lesson time that works for both of us, or I will extend your lessons an additional week. I understand that unforeseen things happen occasionally, but in general I expect to be given proper notice. This is a matter of respect for my time.

If for some reason I need to miss a lesson, I will let you know at least one week in advance and you will not lose the lesson. I will either offer a make-up lesson that week, or extend your lesson credits an additional week to make up for the missed lesson.

Refer a Friend

Students who refer a friend who signs up for a full month of lessons will receive credit for one free lesson.
